OUR TRIP TO THE WILDLIFE REFUGE:

We finally had a day off so our roommate took us to the nearby wildlife refuge. We had a great time with the animals, and the scenery on the way was beautiful too.

The buffalos were very cute!

These were called Sitka deer. Sitka is an island that is part of Alaska - in the southern portion. We actually went there during our honeymoon.

The deer wanted to kiss the camera - he got pretty close.

These are elk!

Of course, the moose. We didn't have to go to the refuge to see these though. We could just look right out our windows at home!

This is a musk ox. I think that he is funny looking. His wool is very valuable though.

I think that the bears were my favorite. They were a little confused and should have been hibernating, but they stayed up just to entertain us. It was fun to watch them roll around in the snow like little kids.

Chris gets in from the cold and we get ready to head back home.
